The vibrant spirit of Onam came alive at St. Thomas UP School Theyyapara on August 25, 2023, as our school blossomed with colorful festivities. Students, teachers, and staff joined hands to celebrate this traditional Kerala festival with enthusiasm.The day commenced with a lively pookalam competition, where students showcased their creativity by crafting floral designs. The campus was adorned with vibrant flowers, reflecting the joyous atmosphere. The harmonious scent of blooms set the tone for the day's celebrations. Next came the much-anticipated Onam Sadhya, a grand feast that brought everyone together. The aroma of the delicious dishes filled the air, and the unity displayed while sharing the meal was heartwarming. The celebrations also included traditional Onam games, known as Onam Kalikal, where students participated in various cultural activities and competitions. From vadam vali (tug of war) to traditional dance performances, the event resonated with laughter and camaraderie. The day served not only as a cultural reminder of Kerala's rich heritage but also as an opportunity for our students to learn about the importance of unity, tradition, and togetherness. The Onam celebrations left everyone with hearts full of happiness and memories to cherish for years to come.
