The school was started in 16/06/1983. Fr. joseph Veetiyankal was the first manager and Sri. MT George was the first Head master. In the opening year students' enrolment was 51. The school obtained permanent recognition in the year 1987. Of the 4 teaching posts one is reserved for protected teachers. Though this is the only school in this village, the strength of students in the current year is only 21. Dropout of families from the area due to the failure in agricultural sector is the main reason behind the shortage of students. Of the 21, ten students are from the tribal colony. Presently two permanent teachers, one daily wage teacher and one protected teacher are working in the school.
